Default Front Monospring

Has anyone who has installed one of these kits care to comment?

Apparently these spring permits you to adjust your ride height. I appreciate your comments.

I hear they are real nice. If you buy one VBP is a supporting vender and gives formum members 10% off. Call them.

I have one on my 72. It's made by VB&P and I got the entire front end kit for mine. It's very easy to install for anyone with experiance. That desription said 5hrs but thats exagerated. I had to grind the stock control arm bolts off and it still took a lot less then that. I have yet to drive mine since its still in project car limbo but I've talked to others who have it and it is highly regarded. Several CF members have it also.

Default how dey hang?

How far does this kit hang from the bottom of the car? From the pics I've seen it looks like it would reduce ground clearance. I'd love to have one myself but here in New Orleans I don't think it'd last a week before it got ripped off the bottom of the car from a our shi**y roads. Can someone post a pic where the undercarriage is basically a horizion shot so I can see how low it actually hangs, if at all? Thanks!

The pic from rosslato above shows an excellent view of clearance. The lowest points of the spring are the hanging bolts at the ends. Those won't be a problem because they move with the wheel. The spring flex wouldl have to be extreme for the mounts to hit. On my '80, my oil pan will hit long before the mono spring, and rosslato's pic shows that.

Thanks for this post guys. I will be doing this setup as my next project. I planned on the rear suspension, but looking at VB&P's pricing for everything I'd need, I'm definitely doing this next. Plus the upper A-Arms, Sway Bar, and Steering components. I really love the look of your car's undercarriage, rosslato. That is an inspiration to me.

Any trouble mounting the two front monospring brackets to the crossmember? Mine is all dented from the previous owner using the jackstand on it. Do you think that will affect how it mounts?

I just received a complete top of the line kit from VBP, plus steeroids and offset trailing arms...

but my 72 is going through a frame off so... there's a long time before I could drive it with that kit!

good to hear it's the right choice :-)

It should not. The brackets bolt to the mounts for the control arms not the crossmember. You should be OK unless the car was hit and the frame is bent.
