Well, since replacing all my wiring I was finally able to get the car back on the road on Sat. Before the snow returned Sun! Now I’ll need to wait for it to melt again and for another good rain to wash away the salt again. But it shouldn’t bee too far off. I need to hang some ceiling fans in the new house for the wife anyways.
Anyhow, back to the topic, The car will not re-start once it’s been taken up to temp. Starting cold is no problem at all. I have wrapped the starter and solenoid with 1500 degree tape, as I initially thought it was due to heat-soak. In-order to restart when hot I must get a jump, and it even takes a few minutes. Anyone know what is going on?
A friend said he had the same issue but hasn’t had the time to figure it out and the car has been in storage since then, about a year ago.
Experienced that once....mine always started cold as well.78 SA....in my case it was the starter solenoid...to test this..bump engine at starter or use jumper wire at main harness......a couple of bumps(re-connect harness connector).. ..then jump inside and try it...
We put a new solenoid spring in,and that did the trick...
Good luck..
