Default Stuck Door

reciently bought a '76 vette but i cant seem to get the passenger door open. key turns, interior lock moves, interior door handle moves, door doesnt open. is there a way to trick the latch??

You have some linkages out of alignment or your door latch assembly is worn and won't function any more. To get it open, you'll have to peel back the top of the door panel a little bit. Using a flashlight and a LONG flathead screwdriver, push down on the part pointed to in the following pic. Get a good solid push on it and the door will pop right open. The tip of the screwdriver may slide off so stay at it. Trust me it works.

After the door is open, tape up the guide on the bulkhead, and take off your door panel. You may have to replace the door latch assembly, and yes, they are cleanable but that doesn't always mean it's going to work

If you do buy a new one...don't get the cheap Chinese stuff...get a good $80 unit from Ebay or a vendor.
