Astro Vent System
I need to find, or find out, about where the astrovent system componants are located in a '71 coupe with A/C. The vacuum valve is mounted on the A/C control in the console, but the vaccum lines are missing, and I can't find the actuator, or the mount point for it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Do you have the AIM? (Assembly instruction manual) Page 333-334.

I am assuming the 71 A/C Vette is the same as 72.
The astro vents in the back were blocked off. Also they did not install the housings that go from the back bulkhead to the vents on the back deck.
If the 71 and 72 are not the same - please disregard the above post

If I remember correctly, if you have AC, you do not have Astrovent. Does your glass say Astrovent on it?

"Astro Ventilation" is on all side window glass in that vintage C3.

To the best of my knowledge all glass said Astrovent, though the back vents were blocked off on AC cars (my 71 Coupe is this way).

You can buy an A.I.M. from any of the aftermarket parts places....Ecklers, Corvette America, Mid-America, etc. etc. Just get on the internet and Google "parts Corvette"; you'll get lots of choices. Order on-line and mailing will be quick. If you can add other parts to your order, it will minimize the shipping cost "damage".
P.S. I have never seen the AIM books in the book stores (Barnes & Nobles, etc.)

I wasn't sure on that one. I do know that AC cars, if factory equipped, had the doors blocked off. I will try to remember that.
On the AIM, check on the left side boarder of this board. You should ZIP corvette. They will have the AIM for your car.

The window still say Astro Ventilation but the AV ducts become AC vents when the cars are AC.
