Default Running issues...

Well, I bought a new starter this weekend. It seemed the car would start fine when cold. I wrapped the starter with heat tape, and it still didn't help. Long story short, the new battery was bad so I got it replaced and got an upgrade from 650crank to 800crank for an addt'l $15. But now I'm po'd because I spent $70 on a starter that I prob didn't need! Should I take it back and put the old one back in? In the future I could always go get another if needed, just addt'l labor of taking it in/out. Unless someone would like to buy the used starter. It was tested and it passed all tests (I have the print-out for the test results). What could I get for a used starter in good working cond?

Electrical items are generally non returnable, so you may be stuck with the new one you bought.

the old one isnt worth a whole heck of a lot
but for the labor involved to swap it out
even if they did give you your money back
i dont think it would be worth the effort.

keep the new one and you can always keep
the old one and when the new one starts to
let go rebuild it so its only a swap out.
