Hi gerry72...
Sorry, I kept the original clock going until about 7 years ago.
It needed the points cleaned a couple of times since new.

Then the last time I removed it to clean the points, the coil had fried.
I suspect the points were dirty and caused a resistive contact. Not enough
to do the "wind", but enough current passed to cook the coil.

The clock part still works, just can't wind itself.

I replaced the movement with a quartz, using my face/hands.

I still have the original "guts"
