Hi I'm New

I have been visiting the forum for a while now and have
become "hooked". Lots of great posts and great responses.
I have a White 1970 Coupe that I purchased new in October 1970.
It's still very much original. Engine, trans, rear, as well as original Paint.
Starter, Alt., brake rotors Etc. are also original. Currently 87K Miles.
A Brief History:
In the summer of 1970 I had a 1969 Camaro SS. I regularly
checked out the local Chevy dealer to see what was new. Late in
the summer, a white coupe appeared in the showroom.
Well, to make a long story short, I caught the "fever".
It took several weeks of "bargaining" to come to a deal.
Options were L46(350/350), M21, 3:70 Posi, HD Rad, Power Brakes,
AM/FM.
A question of Power:
Many of you on the forum are searching for "more power".
This has been a "quest" for many of us for years.
By the spring of 1971 I was not pleased with the performance.
The Camaro I traded had some "extras", and worked quite well.
With the Corvette being heavier than the Camaro, the L46 was
no faster.
Since I had a 5 yr/50k mi. warranty, I did not want to void this by
adding aftermarket performance items. After doing some homework
and seeing some 70 1/2 Z28 Camaros in action, I decided a LT1
option would be a great improvement.
Again, a long story short, the local Chevy dealer agreed to
"add" the LT1 option and still keep the warranty.
The LT1 Option:
In early summer of 1971, the following were added/changed.
LT1 Hood
LT1 Open Element Air Cleaner
Holley 750 DP (From dealer's Speedshop next door)
LT1 Aluminum Intake
LT1 Throttle Cable and Bracket
LT1 Heads (Screw studs and guide plates) - Valves etc. from old heads
LT1 Cam/Lifters
Roller Chain
LT1 Oil Pump
LT1 Windage Tray and Oil Pan
Under Hood Decals
Console Decal
Mallory CD Ignition System
F41 front Sway Bar
F41 7-leaf Rear Spring
Performance:
Now it worked like a Corvette should.
¼ Mile = 13.02 @ 110.30 (Street Tires)
(There are a few conquest stories)
In 1972, factory side pipes were added along with correct Hedman headers
for factory pipes.
In 1977, T & T wheel and Corvette T.I. Ignition was added.
In 1978, power windows were added.
From then until now it has remained mostly unchanged and has been a
Very reliable Corvette. Stored in the Fall and out in the Spring.
With renewed interest and inspiration from the Forum,
I am currently in the process of replacing the front and rear bushings.
Doing ball joints, wheel bearings etc. as well.
The only problem encountered so far is that both rear spindles are twisted.
(Maybe one too many quarter miles?).
I picked up some great tips from the Forum.
Thanks (Sorry for the long post)

There were a few years that it didn't get driven very much.
I guess that's when a lot of original owners sold theirs.
I'm glad now that I kept it.
Thanks Again.
