Default Removing Side Yokes

I have removed the rear cover on the differential and also removed the c clips holding the side yokes but they only move a little bit and wont slide out of the housing.Do they need to be forced or am i missing something.

Default It sounds like

the ends of the yokes are worn a bit causing the inside spline to have some burrs on it. I would just take a soft face hammer or cover it with a rag and use a ball peen hammer and tap it out. It should come out slowly.

IMO... If you had trouble getting them out, then the are worn. You should get new ones. That said, it doesn't really matter which side you put them on or the position.

If they are that worn then they should be replaced. If you are rebuilding the posi then the endplay should be .007-.010 when you're done.
