All righty, well if any have been following the incedent with my car, i talked to the insurence company and they are gonna give me my 7k for totaling it but im gonna buy my vet back from them dirt cheap (my agency owes me big time for something my grandfather did) SOOO im leaving for the Dominican Republic here in the next 2 weeks and was going to order interior parts to restore it AGAIN, but i thought, "hey, why dont you get a new engine?" well i found one i liked from Year One and was wanting to know what you guys think. Anyone had any experience with it? Im upgrading my tranny to a rebuilt 200r4, anything special i need to do to it, im sure its not a heavy hitting tranny but im getting it for $450? I want to make my vet sound MEAN. I have f40s on it already and will be buying some new headers too, but thats the main thing here is sound. will this engine deliver?

Block: Seasoned 4-bolt iron

REBUILT BLOCK, don't know that I'd want a block with an unknown history. Just my dos centavos.

12 month, there are others with longer ones, of course a little more money. Remember, you get what you pay for.

Also, this is just my opinion, you have to make your own decision. There are probably many others who will tell you to go for it.

Did you have your car covered by your regular auto policy? If so, that's why they will only value it at $7K. You can purchase "collector car" insurance from several good companies at reasonable rates and SET the car's value to actual selling worth. Some will allow daily use and "unlimited" mileage for a higher premium. [The next time you may not be able to call-in grandpa's "chip".]

So your going to restore your car with a totaled title?
Not sure in MO but in Jersey thats more trouble then its worth.
You have to jump thru hoops to get your title cleaned off for 1st) the state to recognize it as road worthy and 2nd) for your insurance company to recognize it.
Usually if you buy a totaled title you keep it as a track car/bike so you don't have to worry about a clean title.

I'd do tons of reasearch before you spend a dime. The cars not going anywhere till you get back from vacation. And the year-one engine isn't going anywhere either.
