[?] antenna wont go down
After I replaced my starter yesterday, I was happy to take my 78 for a little lap around my island town. Strange eletrical things have happened. The first was my clock was moving, which it has never done before. But while I was coming back home, not even sure why but I turned my radio on, and my antenna came up. I almost went off the road in surprise. Radio didnt work very well, but its also almost 30 years old so I blame it. But now my antenna wont go back down. I turn the radio off, it stays up. When I turn the radio on I hear the motor doing something, what I dont know. I think its trying to still raise it. I tried shoving it back down with the radio off to no sucess. I have my center console pretty much exposed, I can easily get to the back of the radio. Can I manually bridge something to make it go down? I almost forgot, it also seems kind of curved toward the center of the car, not straight up as I'm pretty sure it should be.

Sounds like the "up" & "down" contacts in the antenna aren't doing their job. Since you are getting power to the antenna and it runs all-the-time [when the radio is switched on], the "up" contact must have lost its connection. My suggestion is to remove the power antenna, disassemble it to clean all contacts and/or repair them, and reinstall. Odds are that it will work.
