Default Patriot tight tuck headers...

Are they a decent product? My hooker D-port long tubes seem too low for me, plus the 2 1/2" exhaust kit would bolt right up without any major modifications.

1 5/8" primaries are good for up to 400 or so hp correct?

Is there a minimum reccommended distance from the exhaust port for the O2 sensor?

Will adding an O2 bung after powdercoating ruin the finish?

My seach was fruitless, but at least I'm in the home stretch with this project!

Thanks in advance,
SD

i have heard the patriot products are a pretty good header. i've been running a jegs special shorty for years but am now looking for a better header myself.
i think the headers will probably support about what you're looking for. keep in mind the '96 LT4 put 330 through cast iron headers of similar design.
my understanding is the closer to the exhaust valve you can get the O2 sensor the better. someone more knowledgable can chime in.
yes, adding a port into coated headers will damage the coating at that spot. better to add it just on the other side of the flange.

Thanks Clutchdust! I was thinking about adding the O2 bung past the header, could it be added right to the pipe?

I am running those headers on my ZZ4. Although I have only 400 miles on the engine, I am very happy with the performance. The fit was great and lots of room for the angle plugs. The right side does come close to the starter but there is enough clearance.

Thanks Binnie, nice vette! I ordered them today, the last big piece needed to button up the drivetrain and hope it runs!

Anyone interested in a set of D-port long tubes?
