Can someone tell me if there's a difference between the SB and BB ignition shield box? I have a SB and want to use looms on the valve covers instead of the original SB set up with the chrome verticles. I saw a BB kit at corvette america and wanted to know if it will fit my 327 engine. Any thoughts (or pictures) would be appreciated.
The shielding is different between the small blocks and big blocks. The small block shoruds the plug wires the complete length to the spark plugs down the side of the engine.
The big block has a housing shielding the distributor and coil, and the spark plug wires are each covered in braided metal sleeves and are routed over the valve covers.
Whether the brackets that hold the box and lid assemblies surrounding the distributor and coil can interchange between the big and small blocks I don't know.
