that drill produces more torque than my neighbor's Honda.....
OK... next question: I added a photo in my original post, all the way up on page #1 .... the fuel pump is not installed yet and that area is dry........ no oil here..... wtf ???
I just noticed that when posting the photo.... I should have oil dripping on the floor.....

i don't think so......that area will get splash lubrication but it is not under any pressure......when you are priming the pump only the oil gallery lines are pressurized not the internal oil pan cavity. thats a good looking engine!
Oh, and the reason you may only be getting oil on the one side is because while priming it's good to rotate the crank. Without rotating...you can easily not get the other side.

its above the oil pan and windage from the rotating crank throws oil around.....ther may be oil dripping down on the cam where it hits the push rod but no oil will be "shooting" out of that hole
ok, just went back to the garage and primed a little more using my 110V drill with higher rpm and a little more umph.... (ballz) than the cordless drill. No change.... rotated the crank 90 degrees, no change, rotated another 90... still no change.....
no oil on passenger side rockers...... the driver side is covered by the valve cover, otherwise I'd be drowning in oil......
looks like I'll have to get the better tool or an old distributor.... time to go to bed now... almost midnight....
Hmmm... maybe connect an oil press gauge at the oil gallery to see what u got. might even be able to connect at each gallery to see if it's getting all the way thru. oh and be careful with homemade oil primers cause I've seen peeps grind the shaft into little shavings when it wasn't sitting all the way into the pump shaft.

Always do BOTH simultaneously ... WHILE you spin correct primer tool/old dist AND slowly rotate crank thru at least 2 revs.
got the $25 version of the priming tool from the 'Zone' - the aluminum bushings center the shaft very well so that you can run the drill faster without the risk os slipping....
It took almost a minute but now the passenger side gets oil too
Glad to hear the good news. Now install...and drive.
I used to set up a jig where the drill was locked on and was held in place by a jig attached to the work bench. That left my hands free to turn the crank slowly.
fyi, to those renting the tool from the zone part #22060. Check the blade width on the shaft. The blade on the tool I rented was too wide and wouldn't drop down onto the pump. I kept spinning it though like a dumba$$. Took the tool back and they checked another tool...same thing.
