I recently filled my gas tank and added sea foam gasoline treatment to it. It smokes a little and I have noticed its running a little rough and it won't turn the tires over from a dead stop. A couple of times while trying to leave the line from a dead stop, I mashed the gas pedal and it felt hard and I could'nt push it down??? Is any of this normal?
The two may be unrelated. You won't see a physical difference in your throttle actuation just by adding something to the gas tank. I suspect the throttle is binding somehow. Remove the cable from the carb and check for ease of movement.

and the first thing to check is your floor mat.
seafoam i have run in every system of the corvette and have
not had any issues at all.
I have used seafoam in most of my vehicles...didn't notice any smoking when using a can to 10 gals or so.....
Stuff works magic...my 4 stroke dirt bike was a clogged up after sitting all winter and would idle but not take throttle......drained the carb and poured the foam down the fuel line to fill the bowl...let it sit for a few hours....fired right up (with a little smoke) and ran perfectly....
Used in excess, sure, but that's true for most additives.
But looks like the originator of this thread put one can of seafoam to a full tank of gas.... dont think that would be high enough concentration to foul plugs. Unless I'm mistaken by the original post.
I once got pond scum into the water-pump of my boat motor. It almost burned it up! I wouldn't let clean water in my car engine, let alone Sea Foam. That's disgusting!
My vette is a 1982 with crossfire injection if that makes any difference. It pulls nice after you get going in it. It's just off idle it does'nt seem to have the power. And The gas pedal sticks like it won't let you push it down. Is there anyway the computer won't let the it happen? Like a limp home mode or something??
Seafoam is awesome. You can run in it the gas, directly into the carb, as a gas treatment or engine treatment. I know a guy who works on cars, boats, planes, etc. He claims the cars that peridically run Seafoam look new on breakdown. On my '78 he advised me to change oil and then to run Seafoam through through the crankcase and then change the oil at 500 miles. The oil was like mud after just 500 miles. He claims it breaks down the sludge in every nook and cranny of the engine. I have a couple of cars that I got check engine lights, and rough idle. Seafoam in the gas; problem fixed. It is great fuel stabilzer too. What I like about it is that you can keep a can on the shelve it is good for a number of uses. The guy who told to use this claims it has been on the market for years but only to pros........It is now available to the public. It can be used in 4 and 2 stroke engines. I have found no side effects and keep a can on the cabinet all the time.
I run Seafoam through everything I own. Now I have never put it in the gas tank, but I pour it directly into the Throttle. It has never done anything like you described here, and I would suggest like mentioned earlier look at other things for the power loss. Maybe the seafoam helped loosen stuff in the gas tank that could be clogging a filter.

the computer has nothing to do with the cable .the tps switch tells the computer what postion it is in .your cable could be binding on a bad spot in the cable .have you had the air cleaner off lately ?with two throttle bodys there are more places for the cable to bind up .with the motor off ,take air cleaner off try moving the acelerator cable and look and see if it is moving freely . i also have had good luck with seafoam .the neighbors love the smoke.

Glad you found it easy. The only reason that made me think of that so fast liek that was that it happened to me almost exactly the same with a Dodge motor. The throttle started binding the exact same time I changed the belt system to serp. I thought it was something off with an accessory binding...but it was the throttle.
