The horn works on my 77 however all of the pieces under the horn cap (on steering wheel) are loose and missing screws. Basically, I was wondering if any of you know of a good technical article or something else that will walk me through this repair. Thanks to everyone for your help!
You didn't mention if you had a T&T or a standard (non-adjustable) steering column. I am going to assume that it was a T&T.
This is a blowup of the 1977 T&T steering wheel and horn parts.
Literally all of the horn parts in the picture can be purchased from the Zip Store right here on line. So you should be able to get it back together with this picture. If your column is a standard type. I will have to dig for another picture.
here is another PIC i uploaded. I do have a question on the Spring / Pin Retainer. is this the proper installation? All the horn parts were missing when i took things apart. http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k3...acts.jpg<br />
Make sure you clean the rust off the contact points on the steering column. My horn only worked in a few places until I cleaned up the contact ring. Now it works whereever I push the horn button.
