I just put Magnaflows on my car yesterday. I have to admit, I'm a bit disapointed in the sound- Honestly, I cant hear any difference in them and the original mufflers that I took off. I'm crossing my fingers that they'll get a bit louder in time, but I'm not counting on it.
I had Spintech Pro Street mufflers installed last Saturday and I was surprised that they didn't sound any louder than the Flowmaster 40 series delta flows that I had. The Pro Streets are supposed to be louder. I did notice there's less interior resonance though. The muffler guy told me that my old catalytic converter is falling apart inside and restricting the flow so that's why the sound isn't at its max. I'm going to have him install a Magnaflow high flow cat this weekend and hopefully that will really bring out the sound.
I have no expierence with mufflers on these cars, I don't even have a completed chassis let alone a car to put these on, but here is a flow comparison done by a moderator of a truck performance forum;
If anyone is interested, Corvette Central has a video/sound clip of their Magnaflows on a C3. There's about 5 links there, but they're all the same clip.
After a ton of researching on the forum and experience I've had with the various brands, I ordered up the Magnaflows from CC Friday. I took the Vette out yesterday with only the 2.5" system on it, no cats and no mufflers, only 90* turn downs so it didn't melt the rear quarters.... sounded ok but, definitely looking forward to getting mufflers on.
