My power windows quit working. I traced the wires back to this component (see pic). It has 2 plugs. The brown plug has a pink wire and a yellow wire with the yellow one being hot. The black plug has a red wire. The red wire runs to the power window switches and I'm thinking it should be hot but it's not. There are 4 other wires running back to the power windows. 2 blue and 2 brown. Of the 5 wires I've mentioned (2 blue, 2 brown, and one red) which one(s) are supposed to be hot. Thanks.
The power window relay is energized only when the ignition is on. If you don't get help tonight, I'll check my wiring diagrams when I get to work tomorrow.
It's the power window relay. The pink wire in the brown plug should go hot with the ignition on as should the red wire running to the power window switches. If the pink wire going to the brown plug isn't hot with the ignition on, there is a 10 amp fuse in fuse panel for this circuit that you should check. If the red wire going to the switches isn't hot with the ignition on then the relay is likely bad.

I think you're right Big G. This problem starting after tearing apart my drivers dash to install 4 sp pedals. Moved around a bunch of wires. Is there a fuse in the box that controls the power windows or is there a breaker somewhere else?

The 10 amp fuse looks good. The yellow wire in the brown plug is hot instead of the pink one. Should both wires be hot??
i was checking this out a while back on my car. both wires are hot - each one runs the motor a different directions. then of course it grounds to the metal on the door when it's bolted on.
