Default Weather stripping question

Took off my hood in Nov. to have the underneath painted. I just got it back minus the weather stripping that was on it. Tried to research as to where it should go but no luck. As I remember there where two short strips on each side. Could someone post a picture of theirs or direct me to where I could look. Also do I really need it as I like the way it looks now. Its a 1979 coupe with the standard hood.

You might search on interior heat problems. There have been several discussions about the hood weatherstrip needing to be in good condition to keep underhood heat/odors from entering the air intake for the passenger compartment.

Plus it's a safety issue. If a hose ruptures/breaks, coolant could be blown back over your windshield.
