alternator bracket
does anyone have a pic of the alternator setup when exchanging manifolds to headers. I need to see what the bracket setup is on driver side with headrers. 69 350 4spd power steering. Driving weather is comming!!!!!

Sorry, no pic, but on my '69 with Hooker Super Comps I use the stock 1971 small block alternator bracket and the stock curved arm for the top adjustment bolt. This bracket does not interfere with the header in any way. Ditch the stock '69 brackets, and also you won't need the special offset brackets that are made by Hooker, Moroso, etc. You may have to get a slightly different length fan belt to fit.

These arn't real good pictures, but they do show the later model alt. mount with a set of headers. The later mount uses the bolt holes in the front of the head and a J shaped bracket. There are also aftermarket aluminum ones that fit about the same way, probably a little better. These brackets are on a 76.

Casting number 3951337.
Bolts onto the head, friend got it at a junkyard, about 15 years ago, early 70's pickup, short water pump. Haven't had a single issue since.
Cost was #3.50. I gave him 5 bucks cause I'm so extravagant.
