side pipe rattle
The left side pipe on my 1973 vette has a rattling sound coming from its interior. Metallic rattling sound is coming from area of side pipe located about mid driver side door. Rattle can be induced by tapping side pipe. All exterior brackets / screws are secured. I'm sure the sound is originating from inside exhaust. Sounds horrible! Any help would be greatly appreciated......

Need more input. What brand of side pipes and what type of baffles are you using? How old are the pipes? If they are Hookers the pipe can be pulled and the guts removed and replaced if necessary. Also fill out your profile.

Had this happen on mine, turns out a baffle broke loose inside. I took it off and gave it to a friend that can weld really well. He located the area it was in and cut three sides of a 2"x3" rectangle in it. Bent up the metal, retrieved the loose piece and welded it up again. Good enough until I replace them.
