Well, here's an update on the ES Poly Trans Mount. I finally got around to doing this task last night and discovered something I was not aware.
The ES Poly mount comes with a metal plate that is approx. 1/8 " thick - maybe a touch thicker. This is NOT a SPACER and MUST be used.
When I installed the mount with the plate per the instructions, the trans was at least 1/4" too high. Everything was off! Exhaust hanger (mounted above the mount) was 3/8" above the pipes so if I tightened the clamps, the exhaust was hitting the body. Not really usable at all. I suppose if there was no exhaust on the car yet, I could have used the ES mount then had the pipes installed. My exhaust is welded end to end, so it is what it is! I also am not sure if there were any interference issues with the shifter. I didn't even check because I decided not to use the ES mount anyway
I ended up using a new rubber mount which was also a little taller than the one that was in there [typical of used rubber mounts] but usable.
So, bottom line, the ES Poly Mount STILL has the issue of being too high.
I did replace the drivers side motor mount with a Poly mount - left the pass mount in because it was still fine and I would have had to remove the header and/or fuel pump to get it out!
I installed the ES poly engine and tranny mounts with no problem on my '68 big block. No driveline vibration either. I also installed a shield (intended for an a/c car) over the left side engine mount because it got melted by the heat from the exhaust.

If I didn't have a fully welded true dual setup with an "X", I probably could have made the trans mount work also. You're lucky.
I agree. Lucky is probably the right word as I've needed a new exhaust system for a few years now but I keep doing other things instead. So now when I get the new exhaust it will take into account the engine and trans mounts.
I'm using ES poly mounts (engine & tranny) on both of my Corvettes (one has an M20 and the other a TH400). No problems and no vibrations (although on both cars the exhaust systems were put on after the mounts were installed).
I also am running the ES poly motor and trans mounts on my 72 for about 2 years now with no problems. I put Hooker side pipes on mine so I would not know if there was an exhaust issue but there is definitely no drive line vibration on my TH400.
