Does the rear view mirror obstruct your frontal view?
Mirror Obstruction – does the rear view mirror obstruct your frontal view?
Are there any alternative mirrors to use?
Remember it has been years since I drove the beast - Finally got the Beast on the road and took it down to the grocery store and when coming back in the subdivision, I was at a 3 way stop. I checked all ways and pulled out. As I started out I realized there was another car almost half way through the intersection. Damn – I pulled right in front of him. I did not get close to getting hit, as he stopped, but boy was I embarrassed. :bb
Literally – this guy’s car was completely hidden behind the rearview mirror. L
Is there any newer style mirror that might fit tighter against the upper windshield frame? I have seen the mirrors that run all the way across the windshield frame for racing. Any comments on them - are they thinner or better? Any alternative or comments (other than pay more attention  ) are appreciated.

actually it does...but then again, those lovely fin things on the back(sugar scoup things), block my view a lot more when Im trying to change lanes. so I think I would rather have my massive mirror, to eliminate some of the blind spots.

Yes, greatly.
I remove it when I autocross.
But for me, most cars have the mirror right in the way for me. It causes a blind spot for me so bad that at a 4 way intersection, I can not see cars coming from the right. I have removed the mount from the windshield and glued it up in a position that gets the mirror as high as possible. The top of the mirror is resting on the underside of the T-top bar.
I also plan to find another mirror. I had an older car that had a mirror that was only about 6 inches by 2 1/2 inches, no plastic trim around it either. It did not have the day/night feature, but I could care less.

nope...I'm too short. :D
Yes...me standing at only 5 ft 3 I can't see most of the hood and the front end. (I get a lot of odd looks, especially from Vette drivers.) You'll know it's me driving because there's about a 1/4 mile between me and the car in front of me.

Hell I am 6' and still can't see past the fenders. And the front of the car -- I have to drive by "The Force" because there is NO WAY I can see that thing !!
