Default Side window adjustment

I recently replaced all the weatherstripping, my goal was to be able to drive through the carwash.

So who's adjusted the side windows and can give away any secrets. I have the manual and there is a procedure there, has anyone used it.

The drivers side window is set too far forward, I had to change the hinge bushings as well as weatherstripping. The window now hits the forward portion of the weatherstripping in the door and the metal channel on the windshield A pillar, stopping it from going all the way up.

Looks to me if I could move the glass back, all would fall into place.

Manual says that by removing the inner door panel and loosning the three bolts that hold the front vertical guide I should be able to just slide the entire window assembly rearward enough to get my front spacing correct, that sound correct ?

Yup thats how you do it. I've dont it but it has been awhile i remeber there being 2 tracks, the front and the rear, but maybe it is only one. Basically your just moving the window track, and the window has to stay on the track so if you move it back the window will go back as well. what year do you have? and how much did the weather stripping run you? I could use some new stuff too. thanks

I need to do this as well. My pass window is too far forward about 1/4". It actually hits the metal trim slightly. I just installed new wewather stripping also. Might mess with it this weekend.

Get a Sixpack, it takes some time to get it right. Works out better if all the window hardware is new, rollers mostly. I figure as long as I have to take it apart I only want to put it back together once.
Clean everything, replace the wear parts, reassemble and adjust. The procedure works pretty good

Go to Zip products home page and click on the section with the Tech articles. They just did an article on replacing weatherstripping on C3 doors. In the article, it shows what you need to do to adjust the door windows up/down/back & forth.

Good luck

I went to the Zip site and tried to click on "Tech Articles
Featured Corvettes & More" but that text is not a link.

Is the ZIP web site broken, or am I trying to click in the wrong place?

Do you have the URL to the article you referenced?

This is on my '79

I bought the weatherstripping kit from Wilcox, great vendor and price. If I remember right 197.00.

Good quality and great service.

I would like to add somone is finally making the right rubber. Most repops up untill now are harder rubber than the original soft latex. This causes many problems. The new Rik's catalogue shows the new, original style. Others will probably follow suit.
