Hey gang im doing my rear end cover and changing shocks when i got the bottom bolt off of the shock the cup retainer seemed to be cupping OUT is this correct and if so why anybody Im eating A taco on A paint break.

Thanks guys I put the cup out.Man I got lucky My seals to the half shafts did not have anything coming from them it was just the cover gasket had a crack in it at the bottom. anyone need some yolk seals?
For a 32 year old car all the bolts and nuts just came off hit em with a little pb blaster no skinned nuckles.If it was not raining in Cols Ohio I would drive it home.The ring and pinion looked new the only thing I really noticed was at the edge of the biggest back gear there were ,Ill Callem spikes just little sharp pieces of like the tip of a tootpick I did nothing to them like file them off or anthing they did no seem to bad?
Added two additives and topped off with GM Spec oil and tightened the plug Hope all works.
