Default Rear wheel noise...still!

O.K., so I finished replacing the parking brake guts inside the passenger side rear wheel. Yes, the top spring had broken loose and was flopping around inside there. So, that problem is now fixed.
I took it out for the test drive and all was well, for about the first mile or so. It seems as I deccelerate, I starting to hear some squeeking noise coming from the same wheel! However, when I accelerate, there is no noise. What gives?
Took it back to the garage, pulled the wheel and caliper back off to see if any of the new stuff was ajar. Nope! Everything fine, all springs in place, lever and everything was fine. Looked closely as the U-joints on the half shafts, they look o.k.
One thing I noticed different from the other rear wheel after close inspection is the amount of "play" in the wheel from top to bottom(with the tire on). Do I need to adjust the wheel bearing? Manual says adjust & lubricate every 25-30K miles(I have no idea when it was done last). I think it's got more play than it should have.
Anybody been down this road?

You can try tighting the spindle nut and see if the play goes out. More than likely you need new wheel bearings.

Anyone think this could be a differential problem?
After reading some threads, I'm not ruling that out.

I had a chirping noise at low speed in the rear after doing brake work. It was caused by run out. I had the rotors shimmed and the noise went away.

When your brake rotor wobbles from side to side as it spins. Supposedly, it will make a squeak everytime it hits the brake pads. However, stock Vette pads have springs that hold the pads to the rotors at all times. There shouldn't be squeaking. It might be time to have the rotors turned. It also might be bearing and U-joint damage noise.

Update- you were right.. it was the left front brake pads being loose in the caliper. Some handy work fixed the problem. thanks!
