Yeah, If it melts the rear tires, that's no big deal.
I knew a guy that had these on a '74 Olds Delta 88 vert. The pipes stuck out about 2 feet past the rear bumper and it would shoot flames about five feet.
This is not something you want to put on sidepipes (or any Vette for that matter)

As far as I know they inject fuel about 4" from the exhaust ends and ignite with a sprk plug, and your engine exhaust does the 'throwing'

I wouldn't do it to my Vette just because I'd be scared of burning the thing to the ground. That said, I think it would look awesome on somebody else's C3.
A bad C3 that shoots flames!!
That whole thing about it being illegal would be a problem too.

It wasn't mine, the insurance got him covered, but it still very sad to see a Corvette this way, just posting as a warning.

The guy I knew didn't inject any fuel. He had a manual choke. He would pull the choke way out and the system would light the unburned fuel in the exhaust. It is very cool to see but the pipes looked pretty stupid sticking out so far from the back of the car.
Sometimes I wish I had them on my car to get people to back off that are following too close.
