Lookin' good Bob

Look's like you had plenty of help!!! BTW: That car is starting to grow on me.

Good luck with the relocation - we've done it a few times and it's always a lot of work.

it will be relocation number 4 for me.....its getting old......this car really does grow on you and when its parked in the driveway everybody looks at it. i can't decide if i should keep it or sell it, working on it is a breeze and i'm actually thinking of making those inner fenders completely removable.....and add those guldstrand headlights and a cool looking low profile roll bar .....it would be sweet....

last night the power steering pump and alternator went in.

the car fought me all night long on every single nut and bolt, and belt, and power steering hose......i even had to grind off a tab on the alternator housing.....i guess its some sort of sick loyalty test...i thought only work could do that

i found the water temp sensor wire but still have not located the oil tube line....

Thank goodness...TT you can use this without jeopardizing your bloomington gold status

I'm going to make these covers over the next few nights for my 68.
Tonights goal is to find out which one of my headlight actuators / valves is playing dead
Thanks MYBAD

Unfortunately I am less fortunate and only have hand shears (sizzors) which bend the crap out of everything. I'd be afraid that once cut/bent it would never seal properly.

i will use some adhesive foam similar to what you can find in hardware stores for sealing ac systems between the fire wall and the blanking plate

Yeah, i bought some air conditioning duct single sided foam tape that i was going to use as a gasket for the heater blower box to firewall, so I'll still use that to seal best I can. Its good thickness foam tape so I'm sure it will do the job.
Also have a roll of foil-backed heat insulation that I picked up at a car show at Englishtown a few years ago. I'll make sure to layer the inside firewall with that stuff.

well the 4 day trip out of town rejuvenated me.....today we worked on the brakes..... only broke 1 line accidentally and i sacrificed the rear steel lines on the trailing arms.....i measured the new mstr cylinder and the bore, plunger etc were exact matches to the old one.....i am using 6 jack stands 4 in the usual places and 2 under the lower A arms....i had to use a torch and an impact wrench to get one of the rear caliper bolts out....it was a bear...incidenatlly this was the caliper that had an original casting number....i bet it was an original one..... i will use scotch brite pads on the rotors and those are the
1/8" spacers necessary for the cragars

Very nice bob. 14 hours in the office each day gets me itching to work on the vette, I can't imagine 4 days worth of withdrawal.

Scotch bright on the rotors? just to clean off the surface rust I assume right?

It took me a while to bend and manuver my brake lines today to the MC since I installed my hydroboost today. The jeep box really puts a kink in the stock brake line locations. That brake line bender really makes things easier.

Also made my firewall block off plates since I'm leaving the heatercore and blower off the car for now. Painted them should be dry by tomorrow. Will seal the wiper valley tomorrow, finish detailing the firewall and lay sound and heat insulation to the interior. Good weekend progress.

How are the wheel bearings front and rear on ur car??

little joe and I kicked butt today.....the calipers are mounted the hoses are all hooked up and the only left to do is to bench bleed the system.....after mom falls asleep tonight i will slip out and finish it up...

Bob, any chance you could snap a pic of your passenger side hood spring that sits on the firewall above the heatercore?
I finished up my heatercore blocking plates and am sealing/detailing the wiper valley when I noticed a big bubba modification.
My pass side hood spring mount is raised 3 or 4 inches above the top of the heatercore. MYBAD's pic shows his flush above the heatercore hole.
I would think a 69 would be similar to a 68, but I'll try to get pics of another 68 just to be sure. Bubba partially fiberglassed a block of wood to raise the hood spring location. Any pics would be helpful Thanks

edit: nevermind, saw pics on the first page that helped. Hummm I will need to find pics from another 68. I'm really get tired of finding half-azz repairs on this car.

Keep up the progress.
What type of brake fluid you going to run? synthetic? if so did you have to order it? I have to bench bleed my MC also before bolting it up to the hydro but am told that I have to special order the synthetic.
