Default Rear spring liners

I just recieved some plastic rear spring liners for my 78 with a 9 leaf rear spring. My spring is 2 1/2" wide and the liners are 2" wide. THe liners have a bead on each side, where if my spring was 2" wide I would think these would work great. I called the ditributor and they said they are the right ones and will work fine. Has anyone had any experience with these? It seems the beads on each side of the liner are going to space the springs out too much. I think they are feeding me a line of crap.

I don't know about 78, but I have some 9 leaf liners for a 75 that I'm refurbing and the distance between the beads is 2.25 inches and the leaves are 2.25 wide.

in 78 they went to 2 1/2" springs and for whatever reason none of the usual suspects sell the wider liners, in fact they're just about impossible to find anywhere short of buying 100' rolls of the stuff. I know this because at one point someone swapped out my rear end cover with the HD one that has the wider spring. I think Flagg suspension is the company that actually manufactures them, but they only sell through local distributers. If you want I can dig around and try to find the name of the shop I finally got mine from.

That would be great if you could find some info on that Chris. I am definetly going to send the 2 inch liners back.

Does anyone have any other ideas of where to get any material to make a set of liners for a 2 1/2 inch spring?

I have a 78 as well. Check with Mike (tracdogg2) he found liners for mine. I just had to trim the length.
