Pro Comp Heads...
Well I need to eat some of my bad words about these heads. There was alot of discussion here a few weeks back about these heads. The issues were the misrepresented intake port size and chamber size, valve guides, quality etc...
Well I had a smoking issue on my new 383. Blamed it on the valve guides of the Pro Comp heads. So I bought a new set of Trick Flows...same thing, swapped intakes, machined the intake..looks like I have an issue with the rings and the engine builder!!
So tonight I CC'd the chambers...they were as advertised 64cc. I CC'd the intake runners ..came in at 193 cc's...advertised as 190's. Not too bad. The Trick Flows came in at 200 cc's and are advertised as 195's!!
So all in all the heads are a good deal...I did have some valve cover sealling issues...but for the money..I had about $670 in them, to my door, plus my time. Not a bad deal. I will add this...the true test will be how long and well they perform with time and miles
