Default Wheel and tire help please...

What is the stock size and back spacing for and 81? The tires I have are BFG p255 60r15 102 sm+s and the rims on it now appear to be 15X8. I am thinking about going to 15X10's on the back and 15X8's on the front and reusing these tires. Can this be done and will I gain or lose anything by doing it? Does anyone have pics of a c3 with WELD PROSTAR'S or POLISHED AMERICAN EAGLE WHEELS SERIES 028's? I am having trouble picturing them on my car but like both wheel and pictures would help me make up my mind. Which do you guys think looks better?

Thanks Rick
My current wheels

The "will it fit" question.....again. I went to several tire shops and couldn't get a straight answer. If you mount the tire, you baught it was the standard answer. I ended up ordering a set of Weld Draglites from Summit Racing, and as luck would have it,the first set did not fit. The Welds have a flat mounting surface on the backside of the wheel,so the brake calipers would not clear. I also ordered 15x10's and they stuck out 1 1/2" past the fender without the tire mounted. Ended up with 15x9's with a 5 1/2" BS,and VB&P adaptors 1 1/4" thick. The fit is perfect with P295 50's.

Check out my website.

the inside of the wheel-spokes bulge in-board, and won't clear the rear caliper:
I didn't even try fitting the 15" x 3.5" skinnies from the Z28 on the '82 up-front.....

I think Forum-members MotorHead and GSC3 ran Convo-Pros on their C3s, maybe they fit w/o adaptors/spacers.....
