Default problem

I have a hesitation when i give the car gas, its almost like theres only air going into the engine. Its like a lag till the gas comes. It sounds like a big sucking noise and then (engine) kicks in.

First question is if you've changed anything lately dealing with either the fuel or timing?

If not, then sounds to me like either a bad accelerator pump, clogged fuel filter or possibly the fuel pump going bad. I'd start with the filter and then the accelerator pump.
