Looking for temp sensor for 72
What I am looking for is a sensor that will work with my existing gauge but will fit a smaller 1/4 or 3/8 NPT hole.
I think the stock unit is 1/2" NPT. To damn big for most modern instrument ports. I purchased a smaller unit but it did not work at all. I don't want to get new gauge because I already have to many new gauges strapped to my steering column and no, I don't want to remove the gauge panel to replace to old one. Rather have a rectal exam by the Jolly Green Giant than remove that again.

do you guys know what gauges are mechanical vs electrical on a 69??? i am wrapping up the install of my 79 engine in the 69 tilt front and i have to get the oil pressure and water temp sending units but i realize i don't know if they are electrical or mechanical. do you know thks bob

With stock heads, just use the stock sensor in the head. I have L98 with aluminum heads and I just used an 82 sending unit (3/8), it reads pretty close in my car. I also think 'Lectric Limited has a 3/8 that will work.

WATER = Electrical (sensor in Driver side head)
