Valve length
in 4.880"
ex 4.903"
5.050" will work but you'll probably have to shim springs/use taller springs.
You need to develop a good working relationship with a trusty local machine shop ... there's one around you somewhere.
to bring the keeper down some but you would still need taller springs.
You get into taller springs you will have problems finding springs with
low enough spring pressure to work with flat tappit cams especially
hydraulic flat tappits. try to find a buy on stock length valves.

I already have my springs, retainers and locks. I'll just get a different set of valves.
Jackson,
I know a couple of good machinists who probably would answer many of my questions. Before I had a computer I used to do everything by phone. But hey, this is more fun, and you guys specialize in Chevy performance. Another difference is that I also know some good mechanics and bodymen who I know for a fact are dead wrong on some of their opinions. Here, a guy can get a consensus from various people.
