It would be safe to say less than 9.0, most likely around 8.5:1

Rule of thumb for changing from 9:1 to 10:1 is 4%-6% gain.

But with the stock heads & cam it will ping like crazy at that CR.

How do you plan on increasing compression with the stock heads?

If you are going to run that cam you need to pick up your CR and flow. Your car run will run like a total dog with no bottom or top end. I put a set of Edelbrock performer RPM heads with 68 cc (I think) chambers and that pick up my CR to about 9.5:1, I install a CC 256 cam and a set of Dynomax headers and my rear wheel HP was 260 hp with 320 ft-lbs Tq. Using a Turbo 400 that would put my engine out put at around 330 hp. Not bad. A far cry from stock. You will gain more from just upgrading to headers for now and save up for some good heads.

with a 76cc, 78 factory head you will have small dome pistons to end
up with 10 to 10.5 comp. you end up with 10.5 and a XE 268 cam
ping city.

What do we need to do then? Better heads? Milder cam?

You need better heads and a different cam. Is the transmission an auto or 4spd.? If it is an auto, you can only go with so large of a cam without changing the torque converter. Smaller cams limited the CR that you can use.

If you want to run 10-10.5 CR with iron heads, you better be looking at a fairly big cam.

Get some dish pistons, some good 64cc heads, and the XE268 cam will work fine.

If your going to run old style combustion chamber iron heads
your going to have to be happy with 9.00 to 9.5 comp ratio
it would take a lot of cam to bleed off enough comp for 10.5
to work, way more then your probably willing to run in a street
car and even then a big cam in a 350 you would have soggy
torque down low. 76cc heads are a pain to make any comp.
with and a 3.48 stroke.
