Killer Lights Video
These are the lights that 69MyWay sells. He calls them killer lights. I for one am a believer in them at this point. We turned them on and got them working within 5 minutes of connecting the battery. I don't know how we did it but both were wired wrong polarity with the headlight switch on. Both stayed down. BTW, these are installed on TNBUSA's 70 vette.

I guess I should have included the website that Chris McDonald has for his car and the lights. Check it out there are some amazing things on his website.

I installed Killer Lights in my '80 about 5 years ago. The kit was still evolving then but it's a great mod. I used '96 Firebird Trans Am motors and a C4 control. I fabricated the brackets and rods myself.
The only things I never took time to ask Chris about or play around with were the springs. My lights come down too fast and hard. Your lights work perfectly. Do you have some pictures of both sets of springs? I would really appreciate seeing what you used.
BTW, here is a pic of my light mechanics when I bought the car (showing bits of the red Bubba paint job):
And here is what that area looks like now with Killer Lights (Pay no attention to the dust. It's been a long winter here in Minnesota.):
I got had the lucky opportunity to have Chris McSpeed install these himself on my car this winter and would never go back. I have too much fun showing them off to all the other vette guys who have never heard of such a mod.

I never used my allocated help calls. I could contact Chris for help with the springs, but I don't remember what my customer # was.
Be careful showing your Killer Lights off at car shows. The more you show them work, the more requests you get to see them work.
They are about half the price of the gm parts direct units but are they half the quality as well?
The ones from GM parts Direct are $175-180 each about $20 more than the ones on ebay. I would spent the 20 more JMO. I've seen the pair sell for about $200 new on ebay you just have to keep looking.

Heck yeah I like em. Makes me want to install a set on mine and loose all the hoses and relays up front. Did you see those lights jump up there? Mine take there sweet time and they do work though.
I finally found time to follow up on these headlights. VERY NICE. I like the ol vaccuum for being different, but - they work really well in the above video.
So - has anyone done this using junk yard parts to save money? Wonder what total costs are for all parts? I could offset some of the $$$ by the money saved not updating the vaccuum hoses and then possibly finding out the tanks, relays are bad, etc etc...
This will be nice with a cam that offers poor vaccuum and look at the room you save.... My vacuum tanks work (well they used to) but they look like sh$t.
This would allow for room for a transcooler or maybe just have more room to work under the nose of the corvette. A negative is to cut the good actuators. Maybe I can find some boogered up ones...

I like how neat and tidy the engine bay looks without all the vacuum lines. Mike removed all of the vacuum lines, actuators, relays on the car. The only vacuum in use is for the heater controls. One tiny line to the firewall.
Thats what I'm curious about. If you have the electric motors for the headlights do you still need to keep the vacume canister for the wiper door???
Also, I like the idea of installing the metal gear inplace of the plastic one, but I've had a few firebirds and GM put the pastic gear there incase the light housing got jammed the gear would slip and fail instead of the motor burning out or forcing the light open to where a bracket or body will get broken. food for thought.

Very nice. Any idea what the weight comparison is? Couldn't be much heavier, if at all, and if they are lighter this would be the ideal spot on a vette to loose weight. Not a bad price either.
I'm in the process of doing this setup and have all the parts except for the headlight motors. I plan to add the brass gear that Chris recommends as well.
