Not a bad price??
Looking at the McSpeed website and ordering everything from GMPartsDirect I estimate the cost to be close to $800 including the McSpeed bracket kit and brass gears.
Note that on those websites provided for the upgraded brass gears, its aprox $45 for only one gear, you need 2. Fleebay has similar ones but same price.

I would go to a junk yard for the motors and hopfully find a low mile 93-98 firebird and throw in the brass gears.
Motors alone new are $360 not including shipping.(includes driver/pass)
Headlight control module (90-96 vette) $112
If you could find the above from a parts car that would save you some bucks.

On top of that you guys have be worried about the springs closing too hard...and what to do about the vacume activiated wiper door
If I could get rid of the vacume canister and still use the wiper door I would start calling some local junk yards, if not, new relays, hoses and actuators will be in order.

I was just going by olouieo's price as posted. $800.00 is quite a bit more, and they would have to substantially lighter for me to get rid of mine that work great. On the vacuum storage canister, you only need that if you want to be able to close the headlights or wiper door with the engine off. As long as the engine is running, it's dead weight. As long as your check valve is good, everything would work the same, but if it's bad, the lights and wiper door would open on a long hill or hard acceleration .

If they went up, would that aid in weight distribution to the rear??

Very Cool my headlights keep me wondering if they will ever come up. So all I need is the kit and 2 motors, sounds great. How do the motors wire into my harness?

and what to do about the vacume activiated wiper door
Chris also has a kit that transforms your wiper door to electric also. Just email him and he will tell you the details. He has been very busy doing some other projects so he has not been able to put all his goodies on the website yet. My car is totally vaccumless except for the brakes for which I am going to convert to a hydraboost totally getting rid of the vaccum when we do the LSx swap later this year.

I put them on my 74, wouldn't trade them for anything. Cost was somewhere around 400.00 to 500.00. I bought the kit from Chris and the other parts off ebay. I had to make the lift arms myself because I couldn't find any anywhere in a salvage yard. They work great.
