Hi everyone, I just here to Glen Allen VA and I found that ZIP was only 17 miles away. I went there this weekend with my wife. Although the store was closed on Sunday, we did manage to stare at the Corvettes in their showroom. One is complete and for sale, it is a really nice War Bonnet Yellow. The other is the same one from Carlisle, Dark Green and frame off display. I can't wait to go on Friday, I took off from work, yeaaaaah. I think I am going to rebuild my 1970 to be a road rocket! The Z06 will have to wait. :D
Been there many times over the years when rebiulding the vette. Good people and their prices are not bad. Always like to look at the cars for sale too.
I have purchased a few things from them. It is nice being in va and ordering from them. You get the parts quick. I have sometimes placed and order on thursday morning and got home friday to see the package was delivered.
Andy Young handled all of my orders and questions and was very helpful. ayoung@zip-corvette.com
Keep us posted on your progress and what you plan to use.
Go south I-95 to south 295. Take 295south to rt.360 W exit. When you come to the light at the end of the ramp, turn left and FAST LANE is on your left. Zip is all the way down the street in the back.
Hey Mark, are there any Big Corvette shows down here. Does anyone from the area go to Carlisle? I am going no matter how far I live from the fairgounds. :yesnod:
not sure of any big shows or little shows either. I wanted to go to carlisle this year but had relatives in town and couldn't make it. next year. I would hope to have my car done by then, but I just don't see how I can afford to complete it by then. I am planning on getting the engine and trans by next spring and will probably have to wait until next fall to send the body off to be redone and then start on the interior.
I may have to take a trip down to Zip as well- it should only be about an hour or so drive. I can't believe the number of times I drove through Richmond without stopping...
One of these days I'll make it to their showroom. They're only a few hours from here so ordering is great and FAST (usually next day) without having to pay extra. :D I've meet several of the Zip guys at Carlisle - they sponsored the hospitality tent and the Corvette Forum folks got to hang out there this year. They certainly are great folks there - and their forum discount and free shipping (I forget when that ends) is wonderful. I just got a new cover for my C4 - ordered it online early Monday AM - it arrived yesterday, Tuesday. I LOVE ZIP. :jester Plus when I spoke with Steve he said he'd put my '70 Corvette Registry Flyer in their showroom for me. :D Gotta love that! :seeya You did join the registry didn't ya? :D ~Juliet
Zip has a big vette show once a year. I have been to it before a lot of vettes. I have been getting a flyer on it but didn't get anything this year so not sure what happened.
As far as other vette shows go I never hear of any.
Gear head: There is also Hanlons plating in Richmond (Zip uses their services, but charges a surcharge). I had my front bumperetees and rear bumpers sent straight to them, great work, and good rates, got them back in 5 days!
ZIP Products is my all time favorite aftermarket provider. Their prices are comtetitive, they're fast, they offer good stuff, and they're nice people. :)
