you can rotate the engine by hand until the pushrod is fully seated and then remove the bolt on the front of the engine and replace it with a longer bolt and hold the push rod in place...just remember to remove that bolt and replace it with the shorter one

Remove push rod from pump area; pull coil wire to keep engine from firing; "bump crank" or hand turn the engine till the cam lobe is back; put heavy grease on rod and reinstall; put gasket and fuel pump on. Wash hands and drive car!
