those blue hoses are just plain fugly, for the rest it fits nicely (I would have done something about the surface rust on the front crossmember though)
X2...ugliest rad hose I've ever seen!!!
Olivier...at least paint it a different color. I know it's not a show car, but just knowing that ugly thing is hooked to your engine must drive you

Dep (just kiddin)...but.... PAINT IT!!!
The only time that I'm gonna see those blue hoses is when I check the oil level... Something that I can't see when driving the car doesn't bother me.. My engine compartment in general would need lots of detailing etc... I'm driving that car a lot and keeping the engine compartment nice is not something that I want to do over and over again.. It's a driver.. Today alone I put 190 miles on the car..
That fan doesn't loo right! You sure you got it on correctly?
Some semi gloss black would look good on those hoses.

That fan is on right.. It was on the same way before.. It's not a factory clutch fan.. It's just a regular steel fan with a spacer.
I didn't take a pic but I also re-attached the electric fan to the radiator.. Drove 190 miles today without issues....
I might spray the hoses if I ever decide to clean up the engine compartment..but for now.. functionality is all that I care for. The whole engine compartment is a shame right now.. not just the hoses but that's not one of my concerns.. I'm remodelling my kitchen and 3 bathrooms right now in my house and really have little time to work on the cars. I only drive them and do what's necessary to keep them driving..
It just looked like the blades have a curve at the tips. If so, this is to keep the air from falling off the end of the blade. Sorta like the up turned wing tips on some of the airplanes now a days. Also I thought the smooth side of the blade pushed the air not the side that had the mounting hub.

Oh well.

you are right.. Something on the fan doesn' took right.. The blades are bent in a weird way.. However.. as long as it cools the engine good enough, I'm not worried.. Running below 195 degrees on a hot and humid day is good enough for me
This is my Griffen setup, works great, keeps a 500 hp 406 at or below 190 degrees with ease.My upper hose is the stock vette hose, maybe will concider braided when cash allows, but the blue has got to go for sure.
The Money Pit, suprised that fan pulls enough air to cool that much hp.
Looks like a computer fan. If you put some fan shroud around it it would cool even better as it would be forced to suck the air thru the radiator instead of around it.
Nice engine bay
Ok, somebody help me out here. The griffin looks pretty darn close to the factory unit to me and seems to install just fine. What then would make me want to get a Dewitts or BeCool, etc for a lot more money instead of the griffin? What am I missing?
The first thing that gets missed a lot on the C3 forum is that there are (5) five completely different radiators for 68-82. The 1968 unit in grandsports car is a one year only unit and it won't come close to fitting any other 69-82 car.
Personally I didn't care for the U brackets going over the end tanks and that yellow stuff on the end of the core is epoxy. If that doesn't bother you, and you have a 68, then go for it.
I'm not getting into the cost vs time thing, that's been beaten to death. If you want to open a box, install it, and forget it, that we can do. If you want to make something fit, and don't mind spending some time at it, then there are cheaper ones out there.
