Hello guys ! I´m driving a 1982 (CE).
I replaced the long speedwire about a year ago. But the core seems to be to short as it doesnt fit tight when I have locked the nut in the gearbox and also feels loose in the compartment although the nut is locked. Its possible to bend the ends ot the wiretube quite a bit in the nutholes.
Always the same troubble getting to it down under on the gearbox. I turn of the nut, pull and push the wirecore back and forth just to inspect that it isnt stuck and then tighten the nut again. Afterwords I think its allright forever.........but no sir !! It goes loose on me again after some months.
Any Ideas how to solve this ??
Im the kind who gets a major chock every time I get the "check engine"
warninglight and always gives me a few scary minutes untill I register that the speedneedle is on zero !
Does anyone have a trick to get to the nut that holds the wire in the enginecompartment. Absolutely no space for hands or regular tools there! Remember I used up all my f-words when I replaced the wire.
