Default running lean at higher speed

how can you check to see if your carb is running lean at high speed..or just running lean???

Have it run on a dyno. The AF ratio is checked all the way up the RPM band and you will get a printout.

You can do timed runs. Run it then richen it up and run it again. If it runs better after you richen it up then it was too lean.

Depends on what he wants to do, spend an afternoon and a half a tank of gas getting it right or an afternoon, half a tank of gas and six or seven hundred dollars letting someone else get it right.

He asked for ways to check this. This way you don't need to find a dyno because you turn the car into one.

Depending on the state of your engine you could always check the rear rod size in the carb.

If your engine is essentialy stock the rods should be the same size as what your car came with from the General. You could rev the heck out of it in the driveway to see if the rear flaps are opening. If the flaps dont open the rods dont rise and the fuel dont go in.
