Looking for any advise or pictures on installing new soft top canvas. I realize there are videos on the market for this but, I do not want to pay $70 for a video that I will use only once.
A member on this forum replaced their soft top not too long ago and mentioned they took 70+ pics before and after. I can't seem to locate that thread or the members name.
I have to replace mine as well - might just video the removal process and hope like 'ell that it goes on ok. I want to paint the frame while while it's off.
I'm in the middle of installing a new top on my '69. I did this once before about 20 years ago, but don't remember too much about it. I have an Al Knock top and the instructions are pretty crappy.
I started putting it on in the garage and got no where. It was cold and I just couldn't stretch the material enough to get it even close to fitting. Then a few weeks ago we had a nice sunny day, about 75* and I pulled it out in the driveway and let the top heat up. Much, much easier. I have it about half done, but we haven't had another nice day since. I figure another 3-4 hours out in the sun and I'll be able to finish it.
The instructions here are much better than the Al Knock instructions.
