Hey Pats406nitrovette, A few minutes after you emailed me the results of the 2nd scan, I called my dad and forced him to tell me who he sold it to. Any way, it turns out it is located 20 miles from my old town. I had to call 4 different people to get to the current owner. Anyway in the last 15 years its accumulated 8,000 miles to bring the total up to 15,000. the owner said it has some type of aftermarket Fuel Injection and a 6 speed manual. This is goin by what the guy said, so I can't be for sure untill I go take a look at it. He said he wasnt plannin on sellin it, but since the original owner's son is wanting it for a gift, he might turn it loose. Now I hope he has the original tranny and induction system for it, AND, does'nt want an arm and a leg.
There are lots of 78 pace cars for sale - asking prices vary hugely! There seem to be a lot of very low mileage pace cars around. I believe in 1978 many were purchased as "investments" and put away. One of these ads is for a brand new never registered pace car, 7 miles on the odo, asking price.... $125k!!! :) Many others more reasonably priced. Deending on how the negotiations go..... have you considered buying a different 78 pace car and just telling you dad it is his original car? :)
Hey, That won't work at all, because he knows the VIN code and thier was a few things he did the the car that unless someone put some major money in to the would still be there. Plus I don't want to lie to him. Mike
