A freind and I went and got my vette from storage at my parents last weekend and on the way back a hub cap came off going through a town. Luckily he was folowing me and picked it up. I put it back on but it seems kind of loose and I'm afraid it's going to come off again and be lost forever. Any suggestions?

New wheel. When I still ran the stock rally wheels, I had one that did that, no matter which hubcap was installed (and I have eight). A Previous Idiot had stuffed a rag into that cap to take up the slack.
I had a trim ring that was loose one time, and I just bent the metal clips around it that hold it on back out to make it tight again. You might could try that.
I tightened up the center cap on a vintage E-T wheel by wrapping a couple layers of electrical tape around where it seats, tightened it up nicely. I think it'd be pretty easy to make a couple wraps on the ralley caps too, should work out all right for ya.
For a Rallye Wheel ? you could try prying the inner lip that locks on to the nubs on the wheel, slightly , or just try the cap at different spots on the wheel untill you find the tightest. Unless of course the nubs on the wheel are trashed enuf where the cap will not grip tightly at all no matter what, then its new wheel time or some welding and filing/grinding on the nub to build it up. Good luck, they do come off sometimes when you dont want 'em to. For a factory Aluminum wheel I've used a bit of clear silicone on the cap where they sit into the center of the wheel, wait for it to dry and its usually good to last a long time. Peace,,,Moosie

The five year old who lives next door was looking at my 89 vert and told me I should put spinners on because they look cool. His Dad just shook his head and said, "No son."

This was right after the same five year old asked his Dad when he was going to get rid of that OLD car in the garage (a 76 Triumph TR6 convertible). I told him that someday he will be really happy that his Dad kept that car!
