door lock question
last week i had a problem with my door not latching when it was closed, so tonight i took the door panel off to inspect the latch. while doing so i pulled on the rod that actuates the lock, and it made a snapping noise, like it snapped into position. low and behold the door started latching again. the locking mechanism and other parts appear to have 35 years of crud built up on them. so my question is, is there some type of spray i can use to clean this gunk off without it damaging or clogging up the rest of the locking mechanism? want to clean it without taking it apart...any suggestions? oh btw, its a 72 coupe, thanks Don
