Stock intake manifold advice
I have a stock L48 and recently asked for help in cleaning up my stock intake manifold since it was off and one of the suggestions was to blast it (sand or bead). I just got off the phone with the machine shop and they said the stock manifolds from the early 350's shouldn't be blasted because you can't be sure to get all of the blast material back out and they recommend just putting it in the vat. :cool: $25.

They are correct, I was interested in bead/sand blasting my heads to clean them up. I was told that it would be bad mojo. The machine shop is correct, you can't insure that you will be able to get all of the blasting material off. If even a piece of blasting material made it down to your cylinder (which it would) it would sure scratch the heck out of the cylinder wall. Sounds like you have a honest machine shop.
