Default Rear End Mount

On the front mount for the rear end, is there suppose to be a bushing or some kind of cushion. I have a clucnking noise after putting it all back together and I think this may be the problem. Also if there is what is it called.

Yeap, the front differential mount, and when it's bad you will get a clunck. Check out the link. You can also get it in poly.

Not a chance that you will find this locally. It is a specialty part. Oth, some local Corvette repair shops will stock one or two of these, if you are lucky enough to have a Corvette shop in your area. You can get expedited mail order if you are desparate.

Well, any mail service can't get me the part in a couple hours so it looks like I'm screwed.

I drove an hour to get one from a corvette speciality shop. I got it in. Now the big clunk is gone but I stull have a little one. I'm gonna go ahead and make sure everything is tight. Oh, BTW with 4:10's and a 3000 stall it gets with it. Now I need to address my traction issues. No brakes needed for a burnout anymore. Jujst romp it.

Everything is tight. The passanger side half shaft is wobbly for some reason. We are taking it off to try and solve the problem.

I think the control arm was out of adjustment which caused slack in the u-joint.

Even after adjusting the control arm deal I still have the clunk. I con't see what it can be.

Could my posi clutches be sticking together? I added about 6-7 oz of limited slip stuff.

Justin,

That wobble sounds like it could be a bad u-joint by your description. The half shaft shafts shouldn't do that. And the strut rod adjustments are to hold the rear wheels in alignment not to take slack out of the u-joints. Put the rear of the car on jack stands so the tires can rotate and try to find some slack in the drive line by trying to rotate either the half shafts or wheels themselves. You can also grab the tire and try to wiggle it. If you can feel slack here that could mean bad or misadjusted rear wheel bearings. If you can't feel any slack that doesn't mean your u-joints are good though. Sometimes they only act up when your driving. If you find a bad u-joint...I would change all 6 of em.

Well, the joints are brand new. So I don't think they are bad.
