Lars, is there a place on this board for your carb info?

Lars, got your papers. I can't find anything in there about the choke pulloff? There is lots of other good info but I can't seem to see anything specifically about choke pulloff.

WTF, other than a perceived fast idle too high, I never had any probs with this car. I thought I was turning down the fast idle screw and it turns out I was turning down the choke pull off adjustment. Now its AFU. I have not messed with carbs for years and years and was never good at adjusting them, obviously.

I go out this morning to start it to see how it would start/run in the morning. Yesterday AFTERNOON it was running fine it seemed. Started right up, drove fine, seemed ok. I thought it was fixed. The engine was warm of course, so a choke pull off problem wouldn't show then I guess.

Then I go out this morning and no start!! It keeps turning over and over, no light off. The butterfly is closed and when I hit the pedal it opens slightly. There is fuel going into carb...just turns over. A few times it backfired pretty good and smoke and fuel shot back out of carb.

The only screw I've messed with this whole time is the choke pull off, of course I thought it was the fast idle screw. Now I'm not sure where it was set originally. I've tried to go at about every possible setting for the screw and still no start.

Im sure the carb is flooded and I wait about 15 minutes between trying again...still no luck. Maybe its way flooded and thats part of the problem.

I'm heading to work in a bit so I will try a few more times. I need to find a good starting point for the choke pull off adjustment. I didn't think the choke pull off could cause the car to not start? I thought it would idle badly, but it would start.

The choke setup paper deals specifically with the choke pulloff and has instructions and specs for setting it up.
