Power windows delay problem

My 73 power windows have gave me problems from day one, the windows will only work after running the vehicle for 5 to 10 min. Is there a relay that can cause this?

I'm not sure on a 73 but I replaced the relay on my 77 it will be located just forward of the shifter underneath the center console if it's like mine.

I think I would try the relay also. Maybe the contacts are burned and dont make a good connection until they get good and hot. I couldn't find an oem style relay so I used one for an electric cooling fan for some newer car. Works great now.

The switches do carry the full load through them also, the relay pulls in when the key is on so your windows dont operate with the key off. Thats the only reason its there.
