I also have heard the annular boosters for the street work very well. I'll have to fab up a heat sheild to see if that helps.
I believe one of the main reasons that the annual booster are better for street is because they are not as far down in the venturi as down leg. This basically translates to better fuel atomization and less fuel puddling in the manifold. You might be able to simulate this affect by installing a ½ inch spacer (in addition to the shield).
I don't have that much space. Even with the LT1 hood there is not a lot of clearance. I am running a 3/8 thick gasket and it puts my air cleaner less than 1/2 inch from the hood. I am running the stock LT1 air cleaner and can't go any lower with that. The vent tubes are almost at the air cleaner lid already. It is tight under there. The 73 and on cars seem to have more clearance.
I used just the rubber carb base/intake insulator from the Holley heat shield kit and lowered my bowl levels a tad. It solved my percolation problems. Then I gave the aluminum heat shield part of the kit to this girlhotrooder I know and didn't even have to ask for fellatio. It was a win-win situation!!!
drop base?
I do not think downleg boosters are your issue.
Is it going lean when you punch it? Almost like it is gasping?
Thanks,
Joe
No not at all. It is flooding out when I just come off the line under light asseleration. When I jump on it everything is fine. The AF ratio stays right where it should. It is under light loads tha tthe problem is and it is getting to much fuel.
Maybe this will help your tuning problem. My RS 825 race demon is rich at light throttle just like yours is. Right now it only needs to idle in the staging lane and go WOT. I did alot of research, and I think this article I found may help you. http://www.chevyhiperformance.com/te...g_gas_mileage/ Good Luck. Ron B.
